Getting Situated for success

Reading Angela Duckworth's second book, Situated, during vacation was a good idea.

Her book is a heartwarming and wide analysis of how people can engineer their situation to foster more success in themselves and others.

The audio book came with a 28 page PDF file. This is great, for many reasons, one is that throughout the excellent audio book Dr. Duckworth is constantly referring to box 1, box 2, box 3. I wish she would have instead said:

It's great that Dr. Duckworth is has put out some YouTube videos promoting her book:

  1. Angela Duckworth #3 (on bringing out your best) | Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard
  2. Grit is not enough: Angela Duckworth on how to change your situation

Some of the high points I'd like people to know include:

  1. We all have many mentors. Some for a reason, some for a season, and some for life. It's good to be a mentor and attract mentors. Dr. Duckworth explains solid techniques for both.
  2. Culture can and should be curated. It doesn't just happen. No one succeeds or fails solely on their own actions. We're all in this together.

Perhaps some folks I know want me to just tell them all about the book. No. All you need to know is that everyone should read both of Dr. Duckworth's books:

  1. Grit (c) 2016
  2. Situated (c) 2026
